Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Although I am an in-network provider with most major insurance companies, please check your coverage carefully by contacting your insurance provider and asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?
  • Is Paulette Sears Counseling an in-network provider?

PLEASE NOTE: If I am not in your insurance network, that does NOT necessarily mean that your insurance won’t pay for the sessions. It usually means that you will pay a higher deductible and copay. Check with your insurance to see what your “out of network” benefit is.

Cancellation Policy

Your scheduled appointment time has been expressly reserved for you.  Except for emergency situations, I require that appointments be cancelled at least 24-hours in advance. Failure to do so results in a missed appointment fee.  I send email or phone reminders the day before your appointment as a courtesy.  If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the missed appointment fee of $40. I maintain this cancellation policy in order to give other clients the opportunity to schedule an appointment in the cancelled spot.  Additionally, your missed appointment results in a loss of income for me and can jeopardize my ability to provide services to you in the future.
